Chinese New Year Photos

One of the highlights of the school year is the Chinese New Year Celebration. A-Plus has been considered to be a school where they share and teach the Chinese culture and language to the children. This day is very important to the Chinese and has a different way of celebrating it. They welcome the New Year with noises and dragon dances. Every class has their own presentation that shows how the Chinese culture and tradition have been this bonded and strong for all over the years. They focus on the importance on being with the family and loved ones on this very special day. One of the activities on this event is the "dumpling making" wherein the children are taught on how to make and cook dumplings that will be eaten after with their families. The mothers are encouraged to join on this activity and be with their children while making the dumplings. This is like a bonding time with their children as well. The celebratrion ends with a simple get together and food sharing with the family members.

Halloween Photos(Trick or Treat)

Halloween is one of the most awaited celebration for children. This is the day where they can wear their favorite costumes and impersonate their favorite characters may it be a prince, princess, wizards or even the scariest creatures. A-Plus students celebrate this day by trick or treating around the mall. They go to different stores and are given candies and chocolates. They are also given prizes and gifts by the A-Plus faculty and staff.

Book Wheel

Every year, A-Plus gives time to have a book fair in the school. This is for the students to appreciate reading more and value the importance of books. Some book shops have stalls at A-Plus for the children and parents to view and buy books. Good quality stories are also read to the students on this week.

Mid-Autumn Festival

Mid-Autumn Festival is celebrated by the Chinese and signifies how close they are with their families. It is done by eating together under the moonlight. The famous moon cake is the main dish for this celebration. A-Plus celebrate this day by having a short program where the parents and other family members get to see their children singing Chinese songs for them while wearing a red costume.

First Educational Field Trip

The students need time to explore the nature and go out to see a different environment, that is why field trips are mostly done by schools. A-Plus had a field trip as well and the students were able to go to four different places. The first stop was at Go Nuts Donuts where they learned to make donuts and identify their types and sizes. They were given free donuts afterwards. The second stop was at Bio-Research Sucat. The students had fun time learning about the different species of fish, birds and other animals. They also had the chance to play with rabbits and hamsters before they went out. Free goldfishes were given as a gift to the students. They had their lunch at McDonalds Sucat and had a short tour around their kitchen. The last stop was at Lamoiyan Corporation where the factory of Happee toothpaste is located. The students watched a short visual presentation about the importance of brushing and teeth and had a short tour on the rooms where the toothpastes were made and packed. They were also given free toothpastes after.
